If you were wrong just once, then you were considered a false prophet and would be put to death. The law in Israel was that a prophet of God had to be correct 100 percent of the time. The Bible says, “No prophecy ever originated from humans. It takes more faith to believe that the Bible’s prophecies were a coincidence than to believe that God planned them. What are the odds that I could make 300 predictions about you and have every one of them come true? The odds are so astronomical that you couldn’t write the number down. But long before the Romans were even thinking about crucifying people, David described it. He didn’t use the word “crucifixion,” because no one knew that word then. A thousand years before Jesus died, David described Jesus’ death on the cross in one of the psalms. He couldn’t have manipulated his birth to fulfill those prophecies. ![]() People in the Bible prophesied about when Jesus would be born, where he’d be born, and how he’d be born. The Bible contains more than 300 prophecies about Jesus alone-all written a thousand years before he was born. That’s right-every one of the Bible’s prophecies has either come true exactly as God predicted or will come true sometime in the future. One of the reasons I can know that the Bible is true and trustworthy is that it has thousands of prophecies that have come true. That means the Bible isn’t just a good idea. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16, “ All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (NIV). It’s also the best-selling book in history and the most-translated book in history. When you follow Jesus’ example, God will honor your humility too with harmony and happiness.The Bible is the most-read book in history. In fact, Philippians goes on to say that, because of Jesus’ humility, “God elevated him to the place of highest honor” (Philippians 2:9 NLT). Philippians 2:8 says, “He humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross” (NLT). If you’re uncertain how or where to serve, analyze your SHAPE and look at the needs around you.ģ. ![]() If you want to be like Jesus, you have to learn to serve. Philippians 2:7 says, “Instead, he gave up his divine privileges he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being” (NLT). You can be tender without surrender you can be understanding without demanding.Ģ. Philippians 2:6 says, “Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to” (NLT).ĭo you know how countercultural it is to give up your right to something? Yes, you have rights, but demanding your rights isn’t the best way to get your needs met. ![]() When you ask what Jesus would do, your answer will always be a humble one that builds harmony and happiness rather than difficulty, defeat, bitterness, and resentment.ġ. What would Jesus do in this problem? What would Jesus do for that person who’s hurting? What would Jesus do at the office, on the golf course, or in your marriage? So if you want to be a happy, humble person, you have to learn to ask yourself: “What would Jesus do?” Jesus is your ultimate example of humility. Happiness comes from harmony, and harmony comes from humility.
